National Blog Posting Month- Day 9
NaBloPoMo 2010-02-09
Good morning! Well, I’m happy to say that I completed yesterday’s edit quota of my 2009 Nanowrimo rough draft. I’ve officially edited now up to page 30 (of my first draft). Of course, my manuscript is now an additional 2 pages shorter, so make of that what you will. Since Mondays are pretty much our busiest day of the week (larger courseload, virtual math class in the morning, plus karate lesson in the evening), I did almost no editing at all until I took my son to his karate lesson. So while he was doing katas (sp?), kicks, and blocks, I was typing and deleting away on my little finicky laptop. This morning, I used Google Docs to copy and paste what I’d done into my ‘Nanowrimo edit’ document on our desktop. Some formatting was lost, but I’m okay with that for now because it helps me remember where I left off. Google Docs, I think I love you.
Honestly, the time I’m using to write this blog I should probably be editing, but it all ties in. The blog keeps me honest, keeps me editing, writing, revising, chipping away at the great whole. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 9 days already!
So this morning I’ve copied a new document, the next 10 pages to be edited, into Google Docs. When I’m ready to edit later this morning, I’ll copy it into a new document on my laptop (told you it was finicky) and chip away at the next 10 pages. I’m only aiming for 3 pages daily, but who knows? Wish me luck.
Have a great day.
