My Writing Niche: Episode 19: Short Stories Past and Present

My Writing Niche (podcast): episode #19

Download or Play episode *here*

I start off reading my new #Spoken Sunday, The Rehearsal Dinner. This week’s selection is from my #Friday Flash instead of my 52/250 flash story, because I’m continuing my new serial.

This week (January 19th) was Edgar Allen Poe‘s birthday, and in honor of that I discuss short stories, past and present, other short story authors such as Kipling and Doctorow, as well as poetry and whether anthologies are making a comeback. Since I’m about a quarter way through My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me, I give my thoughts so far on that modern day anthology.

Please leave any comments or suggestions on my blog. I welcome all feedback, and I hope you will tune in again. Thank you for your time.

**I am also learning how to edit the podcast using Audacity and my new microphone. Any feedback on sound quality or editing suggestions are also appreciated. Thank you.
