Update: Friday, September 27, 2013 and my flash, ‘For Want of a Recipe’

2010-05-30 18.08.53

For Want of a Recipe‘ audio recording ( Click here)

.

Today’s recording was created for the Ticckle Tuesday group on Facebook as well as the Friday Flash meme on Twitter. I combined the Ticckle Tuesday prompt, Female Baker, with a random prompt from sixminutestory.com. The original text may be found here.

The weekly installments of my humorous science-fiction serial, Pinholes: Traveling through the Curtain of the Night, continue to post every Tuesday. Also, I’m currently organizing the serial installments for the end of Part II and the beginning of Part III. My latest post at the Friday Flash site, Special October Days for Writers of All Seasons, is a more somber installment in the Holidays for Writers series.

Tomorrow, I will attend the Western Reserve Writers Conference and Workshop. Afterwards, I will record an episode of the My Writing Niche podcast discussing what I learned from both the conference and my most recent Intro to Fiction class.

On a more personal note, I’ve almost finished my mother’s scarf. When I began knitting it in January, I had planned to give it as a Mother’s Day gift, but now I’m aiming for Christmas. Since I’ve almost finished, I’ve bought some extra thick yarn to begin another project. Now that my son and I have gotten into the groove of the new school and the new schedule, things are going more smoothly. I anticipate having more free time.

I hope you enjoy the flash story. Thank you for your time, and have a lovely week!

Update: Friday, September 20, 2013 and audio of my flash, ‘Dispossessed’

2010-05-30 18.08.53

“Dispossessed” audio recording (<— Click here)

.

For the ‘Garbo Talks‘ challenge at the Friday Flash site, I’ve chosen a flash I wrote at sixminutestory.com using their random photo prompt (a man sitting on a bench). The story was both written and recorded for the Ticckle Tuesday theme, ‘Dispossessed’ on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013.

The past month has been very busy due to my son beginning seventh grade at a new virtual school, so I’ve had to adjust my writing schedule. However, several of my book reviews posted on the Functional Nerds site. Also, within the next week, another installment of my Holidays for Writers series will post on the Friday Flash website.

Currently, I am working on weekly installments of my humorous science-fiction serial, Pinholes: Traveling through the Curtain of the Night, which posts every Tuesday. Other weekly endeavors include my flash entries for Ticckle Tuesday. I am also reading Codex Born, the sequel to Libriomancer by Jim C. Hines, which I plan to review for the Functional Nerds.

In the next few weeks, I will be attending the Western Reserve Writers Conference and Workshop. Afterwards, I will record an episode of the My Writing Nichepodcast discussing what I learned from both the conference and my most recent Intro to Fiction class.

In other areas of my life, things are going well. I’ve turned a junk room into my new office, which I am decorating. By managing my (arm and hand) pain, I’ve been able to take up knitting again. I’m also trying to work my way through several projects from the Star Wars Craft Book. My current sewing project is a Jar Jar Binks pin cushion.

If you listen to the flash, I hope you enjoy it. If you have read this entire post, thank you for your time! Have a lovely week.
