Pinholes: Traveling through the Curtain of the Night (episode #8)

20121226_134654

The brilliant scientist, Portage McPeeve, does not want to take over the world.

He’s discovered a way to travel the stars, using them as gateways into other realities. With his Gateway Manipulator, he hopes to rule all the worlds of the multi-verse with an iron fist. However, when his beloved kitten becomes lost through the machine, he does not hesitate to cast plans for multi-world domination aside; instead, he follows her through the cosmos – encountering zombies, higher education for Supers, Greek gods, and killer ninjas along the way.

Will Portage find Mrs. Bumblefrost before it’s too late?

Episode #8

Hephaestus exited the shower of his small apartment, rubbing a thick towel over his hair, then the rest of his person. Without the uniform, he felt far less impressive, but personal grooming was important; he couldn’t afford to let even little things slide.

That didn’t mean he slacked in his duty though. Oh, no sirree, Bob. On the contrary, he had fully documented and monitored the proceeedings while he’d been gone. The screen in his bathroom ceiling allowed him to cleanse himself while continuing to monitor events. Doctor McPeeve and his lovely assistant had put on quite the display in his absence, and he was grateful for the equipment he’d been able to leave behind on the laboratory’s rooftop. Despite the surveillance camera’s excellent zoom and focus, there were limits to its capabilities. As he walked from room to room in his apartment, he followed the proceedings with interest. He only wished that the glow from the strange portal did not blind him to what the scientists’ themselves observed in its depths.

Evil never rested, but – despite his best attempts – he did. He had to. Notwithstanding his training, his dedication, and his machismo, he was merely human.

The villains reactions told him volumes. So, the infamous cat that the nefarious doctor pursued was involved with ghosts? Wasn’t there some sort of legend about death and ghosts from Egyptian mythology? He’d have to google it later. In the meantime, he would return to his quarry before they committed any heinous crimes. He wasn’t sure what their crimes were yet, but he wasn’t about to let them get away with it.

He grabbed his cape from the closet and began dressing for another day’s work.

Meanwhile, in Portage’s laboratory, the two speechless scientists gazed at each other with the shocked realization that there was much more going on then even they could have imagined. The first two worlds they’d observed through the GM already hinted at a sinister pattern.

Could the dead really rise again?

OOh yes do the dead still walk?? Where’s the cat? Shouldn’t they be focusing on the kitten….. forget about the ghosts and find that kitten – bites nails and awaits the next episode.
